The longest all boat multi route rowing event on the Wild Atlantic Way is coming to Kenmare. WAC Kenmare, the Wild Atlantic Challenge are currently about to launch this great rowing event.
Enjoy a fatastic range of Festivals & Events that the Kenmare area has to offer. All types of rowing boats or boards from paddle boards and canoes to sculls and 14 person dragon boats are invited to take part and will have 5 different routes to choose from.
All Rowing clubs all over Ireland, England Wales and Scotland as well as clubs in Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium & The Netherlands, will be invited to take part this rowing challenge which will have a choice of distances, 5,10,20 & 30 Kms routes inside the Kenmare Bay.
Even though this is a one day event, for crews local, travelling within Ireland and from abroad with families, the actual build up & fun as well as the aftermath stories is what it's really all about, some competitive, some even heroic but more purely celebrating to finish their chosen course while enjoying a weekend in Kenmare and receiving that well deserved medal and pictures to carry home!
Rowing is without a doubt a growing sport but to be able to enjoy this at your own pace in a most picturesque setting right on the Wild Atlantic Way is just tops.
WAC (Wild Atlantic Challenge) Kenmare is a new rowing event taking place on Kenmare Bay, Co.Kerry (Ireland).
It is a multi craft rowing event for competitors of all abilities, with a distance to suit your crew and boat.
Whether you are a 30km Titan or a 5km fledgling, we invite you to come and experience the challenge of the bay and the beauty of the Kenmare coastline, encompassing both the Beara and Iveragh peninsulas.
