County Kerry arts and culture is a rich vein of artistic talent and abilities in every channel of the finest arts and culture in Ireland. From film festivals in The Great Blasket Centre at Dun Chaoin, Dingle. Theatre in Listowel, oil paintings, watercolours, pottery, sculpture, carved wood and original works are all over the county.

Situated in The Square, Listowel has a weekly programme of theatre, music/dance and visual arts featuring local, national and international artists. Also art education in drama, music/dance and traditional arts.

Annually St John’s hosts approximately 160 arts events comprising of 80 theatre presentations, 60 music/dance events and 20 exhibitions.

Blue Umbrella Gallery

Tel : 087 7684158 Exclusive ongoing exhibition of Kerry artists. Comprising mixed medium paintings, calligraphy, tapestry, painted silk, sculpture, ceramics, photography, wrought iron and carved wood. Collection of original works. Newly opened gallery at Church Street Listowel.

Rebecca is working on her first book with Mary Kennelly. It will feature up to 40 prints of Rebecca’s paintings and each visual will respond to Mary’s words through poetry.

It is to be a journey of two minds through painting and poetry, where both share a similar imagination as sparks of inspiration are taken from each other.

The work is based on the creative spirit and promises to be a unique collaboration.

Finuge

An exhibition comprising of 27 works from 3 artists attributing the inspiration of their works towards bog lands, seascapes, prairie fields and rugged panoramic mountain terrain.
