Here are some typical reviews:
I'm a horse trainer and jumper back in the states so going on horse tours for me can be so hit or miss. This tour was a ten!! Anne was an amazing guide, the scenery was epic, horses well trained but certainly not boring. My boyfriend and I did a two hour tour, through Forrest and into the sea and back. He is a beginner rider and he had so much fun! We got to trot, he got a bit of instruction and this may have been the most memorable day of the entire Ireland trip. Playing in the sea with horses was so beautiful for me and I loved my mare Jody. This is a must do... Better than driving, better than sitting in a pub and your heart will swell as you leave the stable!!!
1/Blackwater Stables caters for anything
from kid’s summer camps to Trekking to Training horses. Everyone is catered for
and Anna has horses to suit all riders whether you are a beginner or a more
accomplished rider. She has the most amazing 2 hr hack through Dromore woods
which I enjoyed so much.
She is also an excellent teacher and top class for training young horses. She has taught me and trained some of my youngsters. There is always a feel of relaxation at Blackwater Stables.
2/We were lucky enough to find Blackwater Stables by booking through our hotel – Sheen Falls Lodge. They were delightful. They accommodated us with only 1 day’s notice, and were willing to take my daughter out on a private, two hour ride. My daughter has Western riding experience, but not English – nor did we know we would be riding during our vacation. Even though they don’t advertise providing equipment, they were able to outfit her with helmet and boots without a problem, and also gave a quick lesson to help her transition. The young girl from the stable (in her 20’s) took my daughter out and she was so sweet and patient (I’m so sorry I don’t remember her name!). The horses appeared to be very well cared for and were gentle and used to this style of riding. They rode through a beautiful wooded path with views of the ocean. On drive up the stable appears small and a little off-the-beaten-path – but do not let that bother you a bit. They are great. And it was a perfect launching place to go to Kissane sheep farm or see the Ring of Kerry. We would definitely visit again.Have You Found What You Are Looking For?
