Bastille Day Celebrations Kenmare.
KENMARE'S BASTILLE DAY CELEBRATIONS
Escape to living, Escape to fun, Escape to Kenmare
To celebrate the French community that have chosen to make Kenmare their home, Kenmare town hosts a celebration of the French National day. A little bit of France comes to the Wild Atlantic Way!
To celebrate Bastille Day, the town of Kenmare in Co Kerry has been transformed into a French village.
The colours of France have been draped across the town and bunting flutters in the wind.
There is a large French community living in the town.
Many have opened businesses, while others have come to work in the two five-star hotels in the town.
From the local optician to the wine shop, to the bakery and cafe, to Lorge the local chocolatier - all are flying French colours today.
The whole community comes together to play some Pétanque and sample some great French inspired food and drink.
The Square is transformed into a French quarter where an abundance of music, fun and food can be found. Anyone hoping to challenge the previous winners of the Kenmare Pétanque tournament can join in on 'training days' in the square on Saturday evenings throughout June and July.
The Sheen Falls lodge will also host a tasting menu of French inspired food and accompanying wines.
