The 3 Climbs cycle is a fundraiser for Kerry Hospice which provide vital cancer support to cancer patients, and it also promotes Suicide Awareness.
Last year and this year we will give each cyclist a livelife wrist band which is a foundation set up in the name of the late Donal Walsh From Blennerville in Tralee.
The 3 Climbs cycle takes place on Saturday at 09:00 sharp. Registration starts at 07:30 in the morning costing €30 but you can register now for €25 online. Juveniles are €15 and contact us for family rates.
Cyclist will have the opportunity of three routes on the day 100km 78km and 35km. Cyclists will leave St Brendan`s College Killarney and cycle through the beautiful town of Killarney and out the cork road to begin their adventure. The shorter route will go out the Muckross road towards the famous Molls gap.
Riders will climb over 1000ft to the highest pub in Ireland, Creedons Pub at the top of Coom on the cork Kerry border where you will be furnished with a water top up if you wish to avail of this.
After experiencing some of the most picturesque views and calm of the beautiful country side riders will then decent into the charismatic Kenmare town where they will stop for some refreshments before taking the challenge of the famous Molls gap on before returning back to St Brendan's college killarney where their will be showers and hot food available for free.
Riders will be escorted through the beautiful Killarney town and out the cork road, At the 20km point Cyclists will turn right and continuing on the rugged landscape towards Kilgarvan joining up with the longer group and decending into the charismatic kenmare town where they will stop for some refreshments before taking the challenge of the famous molls gap on before returing back to St. Brendan's College where their will be showering facilities and free hot food for everyone.
Cyclist on this route are in for an immediate treat, Our Family route will cycle through the beautiful muckross road passing many iconic landmark's like torc water fall and roll along the popular tourist route through beautiful woodland right beside the lakes of Killarney.
Cyclist can turn at the 17km mark on this route and make their way back into Killarney or they may continue on another 3 or 4 km and they will reach molls gap before turning and descending back into Killarney where their will be hot food and showing facilities for free.
A truly majestic route that will not disappoint. Their will be a number of guides on this route and cyclist can pick their distance it will be marked along the route.
